Log search improvements: every field is there, search what you want and get it

Two things make production debugging painful:

  1. You clearly see a field in a log (like memory_usage), but the option is nowhere to be found in the search panel
  2. You finally write a correct CQL query, but the system auto-appends default conditions like requestId and timestamp, and the result comes back empty

This log search update fixes both at once.

What changed

Visual search fields auto-sync

Previously, the visual search field list was maintained through backend version updates. A field you logged (like memory, status_code, function_name in the cloud function example) might not appear in the search panel even after being reported — you'd have to wait for the next release.

Now the system dynamically pulls every key reported in the logs, and newly reported log fields automatically appear in the selectable list — no version update needed.

More controllable search interaction

In statement mode, the system used to auto-append default conditions like requestId and timestamp to your hand-written query, often producing results that didn't match your expectation — the query was right, yet no data came back.

Now the system uses exactly the query you type, without auto-appending any default condition. You search what you want and get it.

How to use it

No extra configuration needed — go to console → Log monitoring → Log management.

  • Visual mode: check the fields you want to filter and combine queries
  • Statement mode: write CQL by hand; the system no longer "auto-completes" for you

In one sentence

No more missing fields, no more modified queries. The field you see is the field you can search; the query you write is the query that actually runs.
